KiddieTown provides Robotics programs for children in which they learn coding, robotics and engineering principles. We embrace children’s interest and curiosity to guide them through robotics and engineering principles. Our programs provide the best mix of fun and education for your child. Most kids have so much fun in our programs without even realizing how much they are learning.
Typically, scientists don’t work in isolation. They work in teams collaborating and sharing ideas to investigate, create and test the best solutions. Our young scientists do the same!
In each session of our Robotics and Science programs, the kids team up with partners to:
- Explore a real world science question from physics to earth sciences in a highly collaborative and creative space.
- Put on their detective hats to develop hypotheses and prove them out.
- Design, build and program robots or other creations to investigate a solution(Great for hands on learners!).
- Experiment and problem solve, continually improving their creations. They’ll work just like real scientists and engineers do.
- Wrap up with a fun project summary. It reinforces the skills and concepts they’ve learned.Plus, it’s a great tool to continue the STEM discussion at home. Meanwhile, you’re kept in the loop the whole time.
Now’s the time to give your child an EDGE in STEM!
The EV3 is the latest programmable robotics system from LEGO. Each student is provided a monitor and a LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robotics kit supplemented with motors, sensors and cables for the ultimate learning experience. Students are taught the fundamentals of computer programming using real time hardware/software for instant recognition and retention. Upon completion, students are actively familiar with all the core components of the system.
Objective: Acquire and retain fundamental programming skills while constructing a complex robot and gaining a strong working knowledge of the Mindstorms programming interface.
Approach: Using visual aids, provided laptop or computer and Ev3 robotics kit/ programming interface, students learn programming fundamentals and engineering principles through the direct interaction and manipulation of the Mindstorms Robotics including unique parts, technologies (motors, sensors, communication devices).
Skills Acquired
- Science : Robotics
- Technology : Programming, fine motor skills , parameters, attributes
- Engineering: Complex machine construction, gearing.
- Math: Logic,sequencing, arithmetic, inputs/outputs.
